Hello how are ya, hello how are, hello how are ya life is a cabaret - Bubble, ab fab series 5 - book clubbin.

RIGHT HELLO! Thank you for clicking in on my new (as of February 2024) platform that is this substack thing, what do we have here? A screen magazine that is typed by me, right ok editor help please! So I’m presuming in the monopoly fame game that all this instagram and facebook page is that a lot of you might already know of me, I’ve written four books now, I will put this firstly as these are actual things of a proper paper body, lovely old world beings that some of you might have, thank you if so! If you don’t know who I am then heres the CV. I’m a writer who largerly concerns myself with writing about my garden and or my love of farm animals, namely chickens, the now nostalgia of my childhood and I do mostly things that revolve around these two loves, be it writing or illustration or photography. I come from a town called Hucknall, in Nottinghamshire and spend my time between here and a village near lechalde on Thames in Gloucestershire . Because I don’t drive, I spend a lot of time on the ailing British train network or on my poor bicycle that I was told yesterday was a death trap but we get by.

I like visiting lovely zoos because I love exotic animals from golden lion tamarins to Caribbean flamingos and I love farmyards too. I’m passionate for the welfare of our farmers and farm animals alike and care deeply about having a decent and fair, truthful farming system away from the grip of government sneak and supermarkets. I rarely go abroad I love the English countryside, especially Derbyshire.

Of course I love my garden and most of my garden style is known for being grown in pots, lots of venetian colours jam packed full of nectar for bees and butterflies. You might have listened to me on various gardening podcasts, most notably the one I started with my friend Sarah Raven which is called Grow, Cook, Eat, Arrange.

I keep rare breed hens who occupy a lot of my thoughts and mind. For almost a decade now I’ve been on Instagram and I enjoy it very much. I love sharing about the people namely from the television shows that I watch and about news I want to shout up about. I’m not social but interesting people interest me. I’m hoping that on substack that I can expand on what I share and am passionate about and am looking forward to sharing lots of what I hope you’ll think is beautiful and thought provoking, at times funny and touching content in what can feel like a very dark and disconnected world. Anyway I hope that my typing on here, now and then, gives us all a lovely time and thank you for clicking on!
