Such interesting facts about the real Valentine! That window is spectacular. I have 12 roses in my garden. All on their own root stock, as they would not survive Vermont winters. Several of the neighbors have bees. And one gives me honey every year. I get to taste my own flowers, for they gather in my gardens.❤
My favourite piece of Chaucer is that line where the birds are saying “Glory be to seynt Valentine/ For on this day I chese yow to be myne/ And therwithal there bekes gonen mete” Their beaks meet. Love it
Where to begin... Will try to do better on the honey front..don't want glucose syrup. You do know we have St Valentines' bones/relic in Whitefriar Church in Dublin?
That was lovely! OH and I agreed it is honey gifts for VD next year. 🐝🐝🐝Where is that stained glass? I adore the bee motif 😘 We never do imported forced flowers (they are so sad) - either some daffs from a local grower or a kenzan display in a pretty bowl with what we can find in the garden (more than you think, even in Feb!) I did get roses on my card, but no real ones until June. I too have received bare root roses as a gift: OH thought I would be disappointed by a paper bag of sticks - I was thrilled.🤩
