I had quite literally, a dash around Chatsworth House on Thursday afternoon because I wanted to see the current exhibition that is on -The Gorgeous Nothings - Flowers at Chatsworth’ (it is running until the 5th of October) It is quite a thing to dash about its public route because it is of course, very large but dash I did as to be honest, I always do when it comes to the house and on many visits, I don’t go inside at all!
what a fabulous description of your special relationship with a place and with the people and paintings and statues and shops and hens who make it so irestistible.
I really enjoy your writings. Such vivid descriptions of plants, birds, hens, wonderful places, etc. I must go to Chatsworth some day soon. My son in law was raised in Derbyshire. Right into my garden maintenance season right now. Perphaps next spring when I visit my daughter. Thank you Arthur❤

The Japanese wall paper perhaps shows camellias since they are native to Japan? Peonies are native to China. Just a guess, though.
Thank you for the tour, I now want to visit Chatsworth!
Also love the Chicken narrative.
How glorious, thank you x
I've been trying to think who your writing style sometimes reminds me of - it's Eloise! That is meant as a compliment.
It's a very free and easy style which is unencumbered by attention to spelling, grammar and punctuation - refreshingly simple.
Oh the cockatoo. So alive!
Lovely !
