Lovely eggcup. I once got sent Carneval de Rio as a substitute for Estella Rijnveld. I was not happy.

Least it wasn’t too dissimilar but I can understand I think it’s later so am hoping the very tight white and green buds will be that

I just love the way Estella kind of falls apart in that overblown blowsy way…

Unfortunately Estella Rijnveld is declining in vigour as a cultivar and becoming scarce in cultivation 😔

I forgot how thirsty tulips in pos are and beheaded a drooping Negrita Parrot, popped it in a bud vase on the kitchen windowsill and it’s been doing a very fine fandango for about a week so far. I find the shapes that parrot tulips make endlessly enchanting. Love the Bridgewater factory and my partner comes from Stoke. He knew nothing about pottery when we met - I took him and his boys to the decorating studio one Christmas - such fun! So much fun that I’ve taken several groups there as part of creative well-being projects. I now have a little collection of my own bonkers painted Bridgewater bits and pieces. The garden is so lovely and the displays on the walls are fab too.

A splendid sight to behold indeed.. did you name the said egg cup? Priscilla would be a tip top fitting naming ceremony 🥳

Live the egg cup and your tales of seaside visits and bargain hunting! The tulip is quite lah di dah for the garden but does suit that egg cup! I hope the talk goes well and the train runs like they (supposedly) did in the 50s 😀!
